I have never before given a shit about Ghost Rider until I read that you and Felipe Smith were gonna be on it. I've loved his work for years, and just discovered yours in the last 6 months... this is gonna be fucking siiiiiiick.
okay i have one question for you. what is your proces for those small white rectagular whites you put in for energy? do you plan them all out? or do you white em out , cause from what i have seen they dont look whited out... and if you have to plan them out, i salute you, cause if i tried id probably have to make 1 page a month
Ah, the patented energy confetti (as Justin Jordan and I have coined it)! I don't use white out for it, and I pencil fairly loosely, so I definitely don't plan all of them out. I'll hint at them here and there, but they're pretty much all put in there organically/arbitrarily as I see fit during the inking process. With most of my special effect stuff (fire, explosions, energy confetti, etc.), I get the basic shape and movement down loosely with the pencils, then I make all the intricate decisions while inking.
Haha, thanks! Here's a little secret… up until fairly recently I used hate drawing cars too! It may sound strange, but one of the big reasons I took on this comic was because I wasn't very confident with drawing cars and I wanted to get better at it. It's been a struggle at times, but I'm starting to find enjoyment in it as my understanding grows.
I don't find myself looking too closely at comics these days, but my god. The action here is just perfect. I so often find sequences like this hard to visualize in my head, but this is spot-on. And those faces are priceless.
Thanks a bunch! Really glad you like it. Yeah, it's often difficult to visualize action scenes then move them from your head onto the page, but it's a very nice feeling when you're finally able translates the ideas properly!
