A childhood neighbor and longtime friend of mine, Aimee Copeland, recently developed necrotizing fasciitis due a leg injury and has since had to have her left leg, right foot, and both hands amputated. Miraculously, she's survived all of this has been steadily battling her way to recovery for the past month.
