Haha, you never know! The folks over at Marvel have been very kind to me thus far, so hopefully I'll do some interiors with them before too long.

I feel like I'm going to stick my foot in my mouth for asking but whats up with his knees?

Haha, no worries. No need to be putting your foot anywhere but the ground, good sir!

Regarding the knees, I tend to exaggerate posture and body movement in my work. I also enjoy conveying body contortion that may or may not be humanly possible. I feel that it adds a lot energy and fun to a piece! So yeah, it's just a stylistic trait/quirk that you'll likely notice it a lot of my drawings. Hopefully that answers your question!

Oh, man. A ton of people influenced my style and creators both old and new continue to do so daily! Off the top of my head, some stand outs are: Frank Quitely, John Romita Jr., the Kubert family (Joe, Adam, and Andy), Akira Toriyama, Tetsuya Nomura, Sean Murphy, Ryan Ottley, Oliver Coipel, Travis Charest, Geof Darrow, and James Harren.

Also, don't worry; your english is good!

I've been found out! I suppose that's what I get for using old chicken bones for straight edges…

Glad you like the piece, dude!

So you're really summoning demons with those chicken bones to draw your work! How much chicken blood do you go through to get a book done?

Totes dude! Love it.

I could stare at your line-work all day...

That sounded slightly sexual, but I won't apologize for it.

So here's my list of favorite working comic artists (in no particular order)
- Tradd Moore
- Sean Gordon Murphy
- Kevin Castaniero
- Jeff Stokely
- Paul Pope
- Becky Cloonan
- Ramon Perez
- Stan Sakai
- Skottie Young
- Ashley Wood

Curious to know who you'd list

Haha, thanks! I really appreciate it, dude! I'm quite flattered to be included on a list with folks of that caliber.

Some artists that I'm really, really loving at the moment (and will for all time!) are:

- Frank Quitely
- Olivier Coipel
- James Harren
- Sean Murphy
- The Invincible Artists (Ryan Ottley, Cliff Rathburn, Cory Walker)
- Chris Bachalo
- Kris Anka
- David Aja
- My fellow BNN Crew (Mateus Santolouco, Jorge Coelho, Andrew MacLean, Filipe Andrade, Logan Faerber, Giannis Milonogiannis etc., etc.)
- Becky Cloonan

Some of the folks you mentioned are all time favorites of mine (Paul Pope, Ashley Wood), but I'm not reading anything of theirs at the moment, so I had to leave them off the "current" list.

All praise be to the KnockleKnot! Born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and buried. On the third day it rose again. It ascended into nothing, and sitteth at the left hand of Tradd, an artist of fight scenes.

Your style is definitely a great fit for Spidey's anatomy: long, clean, slim lines.

Your architecture skills are so superb. The solid structure and clear, readable spot blacks just make for a really stylish piece. I love the rhythm of details here, and the breakup of space. It works great to tell the action and give the page a real smooth pacing to it, even as a single splash page. I really like how you render the windows, especially. It breaks up the space nicely.

Thanks, my friend! Architecture and backgrounds are things I'm always striving to improve upon, so I really appreciate the feedback. I've finally gotten around to the point where I can find enjoyment in drawing BGs (took me a while), which I think is a really important piece of the puzzle. Drawing stuff that doesn't interest you is the wooooorst!

I totally agree!! XD I used to hate drawing backgrounds too before Lyle's class. I grew a love for architecture and interior spaces in SCAD thanks to the art history classes, actually. So it did help when it came to tackling bgs. But man. Cityscapes are still the bane of my existence XD So kudos on that!

Did you do this yourself?

I cannot wait for this issue, honestly the art excites me. Usually when the two team-up (or fight) the art is absolutely terrible. It's like Marvel isn't capitalizing on what should be one of the best selling team-ups in the industry.

Spider-Man and Deadpool have plenty of similarities but SO MANY differences. It's one of my favorite interactions to watch in comics (when done right obviously). I thought they nailed it in Suicide Kings. And of course, my favorite issue of all time...Deadpool issue 11 of volume 1. Look at me, I look like a fucking nerd citing volumes. But it's an issue when Deadpool goes back into time and disguises himself as Peter Parker. He goes through an entire day as Parker and lives his life and it is one of the funniest things I have ever read. Literally. No reading material has ever made me laugh the way that issue made me laugh.

But damn dude, this is absolutely spectacular. It looks so fluid, something I think should be mandatory when drawing these characters. I never understood why Marvel assigns artists who don't have a master of fluidity to draw a character like Spider-Man or Deadpool...characters that are so animated physically.

Great work man, I look forward to seeing what else you can do!

EXCELSIOR!

Okay that came off really cliche, I apologize.

Thanks so much, man! I really appreciate the kind words and thought out commentary. Haha, I did indeed do this myself.

Also, I agree that Spider-Man and Deadpool are a team-up that should certainly amount to comic gold!

Just as a heads up, I'm not doing the interiors for this issue, only the cover. Sorry, man! That said, the artist who is doing the interiors, Mike Hawthorne, is very good, so you definitely don't have to worry about suffering through sub-par artwork for the team-up in this issue!

Thanks again!
